Then all of the tribes started to get muskets and there was war every were. then the treaty of waitangi was made over fourty men. signed it and it was about protection,partnership and participation. after that there were no wars and no muskets.

when I didn't have a netbook it was hard because you had to write with a pencil and no one got to see your work instead of the teacher. It was like you were practising and practising every day and then it was nothing.

Now that we have a netbook, its easier because we have our own blog to put our own stuff on. But when we didn’t have a netbook we had to share a blog and then you had to wait to go on the computer.

A net book is good cause it helps us learn all the time, and we can go on maths whizz. when we take it home we can do our blog posts and play games.

But its hard that we get sour fingers and out Internet all ways gos off. if there is a crack on our screen it has to be sent some were to get fixed and it takes a long time to come back on the boat.

I like haing a net book and I don't want it to go away.

The long hike

Camp was finally here, it was a long ferry trip to camp Bentzon and as soon as we got there we had to go for a two hour hike.First I was walking with my friend and then we stoped and had lunch by the water.

Then the teachers had a challenge to get the yellow buey (The little yellow ball in the sea that the boats moor on to).But in the end Mr Barks won and Mr Sommerville was still trying to hit it.

In one more week we are Going to camp Bentzon on Kawau Island and we get to stay in cabins not tents.Its going to cool because we are going to be in rooms with our friends.

Camp Bentzon is on Kawau Island and you have to catch the bus to sans-pet. then catch the fairy to Kawau and then up to camp Bentzon.

I'm looking forward to abseiling because it looks cool and its high off the ground. but only need to jump down.

The confidence course is going to be challenging because I've never been on one before. it looks hard because

I cant wait in till camp it is going to be cool.

Ice Cream Comets

Did you know you can eat a comet? (not the real one) Me and my class made one out of ice cream. When I saw the cones on the teachers table and she said we were going to make comets I thought out of what. then she said out of ice cream, yum.

When room 16 came in and we all got in a circle we had to crush some biscuits to make rocks. Comets are made out of ice,dust and rock were using ice cream for the ice crushed cookies for the rocks and hundreds and thousands for the dust.

some of us got a tern to crush the biscuits when my friend done it, it looked like he just had a bag of dust. Then we got a scoop of ice cream in my hand to mix with the crushed biscuits. The ice cream it nearly made my fingers
freeze off but when I put it on my cone it was all right.

“Yum!” I said to my self while ice cream was dripping down my hand. Mr SommerVille made a mess with all the ice cream and biscuits,Then some plates started coming out with chocolate ice cream on them.

I like ice cream and it will be cool if we get to do it again and it will be nice.

We were getting ready to perform at the Fan-zone, we were still practising for three hours with my Cousins, my Uncle and my brother. Some of us got ready on time and then we practised, my uncle got the music ready.He recorded it on to the hard drive and then got our VIP passes.

I jumped in the van and left for the Fan-zone, we where nervous because there might be more then 1000 people there. All of us saw all the people that were there we could see other people performing to. We go c out and then, all of us didn't want to do it because there was Heep's of people walking in.

As soon as we were close i ran in, there was bad news we were to late to perform because my uncle toke to long to get it ready. I went to have a look how big the audience is it was small. But then, the lady said “I can try and get some one to move in to your slot and give you some time to get ready” but we didn't perform.

Next time we know now to get ready on time, and don't take long to record the music. We
were disappointed and left straight away.

The NRL grand finally arrived on the second of October 2011. It was the mighty Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles. They played At ANZ stadium in Australia.

Manly were ahead the first half, then Manu Vatuvai ran up the side line and got the try for the warriors.Then me and my dad yelled out “GO THE MIGHTY WARRIORS”.

It was nearly the end of the game, and Manly were holding the score.Then Elijah Taylor managed to score the second try for the Warriors, they were all hyped and ready. But still the warriors lost 24-10.

I was angry that Manly won, But I think the stronger team won at the end.

How to make a thung chai

My reading group read about thung chai which are Vietnamese fishing boats. I have written instruction on how they are made.

1.Cut long green bamboo

2.then scrape the outer skin of the banboo

3.slice the poles into thin slats

4. dip it in water to make it soft

5. strech the bamboo slats over a basket shaped mould

6. then they pull the bamboo tight to make it a round shape

7.then they put more bamboo around and pull it tight

The rugby world cup started and on wednsday there is going to be a game aginst tonga and canada at Whangarei in Northland Events Centre I think the score is going to be 26-12 to Tonga.

Finerly the rugby world cup started on friday and they celebraited in style.It was a spectacyala celebration and more then 5000 people were there moving in to eden park and they were selling lots of tickets.

The first game kicked off with Tonga and the all blacks. Tonga made history by geting there first try against all blacks, Then the all blacks were fighting back. Then the all blacks won and scored 41-10.

There were fireworks and maori people standing on the sky tower. They were telling the people to let off the fireworks and then it bigan and they were shooting every were. When it was finished the game kicked off and the fireworks went on fo 12 minutes.

Although The city struggled with the huge crowd, every one agreed that the opening ceremony was a huge success.

On friday the 9th the rugby world cup is going to be launched in Eden park and there is going to be the first game and a celebration of fireworks. The first game will be against AB and Tonga First it will be haka from the all blacks and then the chant from tonga,My prediction is that the all blacks will win 100 Nil because the ABs got the best players. I think Keven mealamu will score the first try for the hole game.

I did’nt even know how to play badminton and when I heard miss say we have badminton new I wasent going to do good. But when we got there I felt good about it until i saw the other people playing. It looked liked they played for years I did’nt have a good feling about this but i had to do it anyway.

It was hard to serve the shuttle because it was small like a ball, I tryed to serve it one time but i missed then I tryed to serve it another time then I missed. It was so hard that i had to give it to my buddy to serve then when he served it I missed it so the I had to try and serve it again and then i missed it.

When lin brang in the nets I new we were going to have a game and I was worried that I would’nt hit it and let the team down. But when I got on they served it to me and I hit it high, and then he hit it back then I got out.

I really like badminton now, so if we go back with perseverance and determination I know i can do better and serve the shuttle right.

In New Zealand, the further south you go, the more extreme the winter conditions. But when you go further north it gets warmer because Auckland is further away than Dunedin and Antarcitca. Most of the snow came up to the North Island but didn’t strike Auckland.

New zealand is a beautiful country and a must-do for any travel holiday. We have lush islands suthch as ragintoto and wihiki and you can stay there for a hoilday. You can go and stay at wonderful hotels.

Room 17 Really needs a make over for our courtyard because it is ugly and no one wants to play here. One of the reasons that it is ugly is because that there is a big long hole in the middle. Plus grass is filling up the tap and it is geting yuck.

Little kids get hurt because there is no room on the courts and theres fights going on. People get crowded in the winter times cause the fields are closed a they have to play on the courts. Not many people come and play in it because it is boring and there is nothing to do.

Also kids get squashed on the courts by big kids then biger kids will squash them. We need to intice people to come and play in our court yard. Every body says Its not a good place to hang out because we all sent a survay out to some classes, to see if they like it but they all said no.

Plus the ditch in the middle of the courts is taking up the hole space and we can’t play the games we like to play. Unfortunatly the senior block tock all of the space, It tock all of the places that we like to play and it toke the courts that we play on.

If we make our court yard a better place kids might stop geting boweld over.

We should all have 1 television free day, per week.there are many reasons for this.We should all just have one free day of tv per week .This is good because you will get to rest your eyes for a day, and you can save some power.

Firstly you can save some power and your electrition bill won’t be so high. Also your Mum won’t be angry at you, for making it so high.

Secondly you can rest your eyes for a day. Then your mum won’t have to complain about a kid with square eyes!

I think its a good idea we have a break from tv per week don't you?

The main characters are a stork and a black and white cloud.The setting of the movie is in the sky with the clouds. When this movie starts a stork is carrying babies, dogs and kittens to their new houses to live. This one stork has to go to this cloud that makes bad babies like crockadiles and the stork has to delivery them. As the movie ends he has to take another baby
then it was an eel. My rating of the movie is 10 out of 10 because it is funny.

I have added a basketball hoop in my plan because it is fun and we have somthing to play with out side our court yard and I have added a picnic table so we can eat on it and then we added sun shaydes out side on the entrence of the court yard .

We have added a basketball hoop in our plan cause it is boring and there is nothing to do out side AT ALL and we have added a picnic table so we don't have to sit on the ground any more.
And then we added a sunshaid so the sun does not come on me.

I have found prices for a basketball hoop but I havent found the right one that gos on the wall.

This moring we were desiging our netbook mouse. We had to use the bar key (bigger,add and replace) it was prety hard but we found a way then i just keept drawing . I drew a mouse with rockets, a hovercraft, and a cheese grater.

I put a hover craft on it so it could fly to me were ever I go. Then I put on a cheese grater to make it look sharp.

Some animals can have a meal and not eat for a very long time.
Most snakes have ther meals in the summer and go to sleep in the winter and sleep for months.

Bears eat food and store it in their fat for energy. Then when it is winter they had to go to sleep and have a period of rest.

Camels cary fat in their hump for energy because there is no food in the deset. They need heaps of energy for heaps of walking and it is very hot.

Every Thursday we have cricket with Hamen,Chris,Robet it is the worst part of the week because i can’t play. I don’t like cricket because every time I hit the ball i hit the wicket. but we had a compation so we could win the ball we had it on the field I was coming in first but I triped.

We had cricket to day we were learning how to bowl. I was not good at it at all because i could allways think of soft ball. when we finished bowling we played a game. we had to nock down the wicket we were wining but the other team one.

it was a bit hard at first but we got the the hang of it. it is our last day for the year but we won’t give up. We will still play no mater what we love crick

In the holidays I played blackops on xbox360 online. As soon as i signed in heaps of people of people signed in to. When the game started i picked my gun the sniper riffle. when i finished picking my gun i got started. there was about 18 people playing. The aim of the game is to try hide and shoot. Its hard because the people played this game for long. As soon as i hid up stairs in a house i heard someone so i set a trap. the trap I set was a mind boom so when he came up stairs it would blow up. When he died i looked out the window an i saw people. as soon as they heard the boom they came running up stairs and killed me.

Dragon ball Z

In dragon ball Z Trunks has come back from the future to warn Yamcha,Tein, Goku,Vageta,Pekalo,Gohan and Krillin that androids are going to take over the world in 3 years. Trunks came back because he wanted to stop the androids now, or in the future they will kill every one. To prepare for the android invasion they started training. Gohan trained with Pekalo and Goku. Vageta went and trained by himself. Krilen went and trained with master Roushy, while Tien and Yamcha trained by themselves. Boma came up with an idea, she said, “why don’t you collect all of the dragon balls and tell the dragon to tell us were the androids so we can kill them.” But Vageta replied, “it will take three years to do that!”
Dragon ball z is my favourite show because for one, it has great characters. Secondly the battles are action-packed and exciting!

In the weekend I saw people dressed up as vampires, ghosts, tooth fairies and ugly ghosts. It was Halloween. I didn't go because it looked boring and we didn't have any lollies. when people were walking around my street they had cape's,masks, fangs and paint. peoples lollie bags were filled up to the top. They had chocolates, fruit bursts and some people had money. my friend was going to dress up a tooth fairy but he cudent because his mum said no. THE END

In the weekend i was gardening at my Auntys house first (me and) my Aunty and i went to buy flowers. and we brought a weed mat,pebbles and some soil. When we got back home (me and) my Aunty and i layed down the weed mat. she started to cut holes where the plants went. She suddenly said “you can plant them now” so i dug holes were they went . We had “6 flaxe plants, 4 grassy plants, 2yellow plants and 1 blue plant.” When i planted all 13 plants then my aunty brang in the pebbles and we started to chuck them on. when it was finished i had to spray it. In the holidays I played my psp at home. I was playing fight night round 3 and I was Mohammed Ali. It is a boxing game and I was versing Hopkins. When the bell rang I went up to Hopkins and punched him then I made him bleed, the bell rang so the round ended. Suddenly the ball rang again for the second round so I went up to Hopkins and I was punching him lots of times. He fell to the ground. Suddenly I heard the reef say “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10” then the bell rang again and it said KO. The ref came over and held up my hand and said, “ The winner by knock out, Mohamed Ali”. Immersion Assembly

On Monday we had an Immersion Assembly in the hall so Mr Burt could tell us about our new topic for term . Suddenly Mr Burt announced the topic it was “Little Critters. As soon as Mr Burt was finished there were team items.
My favorite and funniest team was team 4 because Mr Barks was the queen bee and there were 4 workers, who were dressed up as bumble bees. The working bees were feeding Mr Barks, cleaning him, and cooling him. Also while the 3 bees were dancing the other one was sweeping the floor. Suddenly Mr Barks said “Wait for it” then some babies came out - 4 came out. Then they bowed and went off stage.

Cross Country

As I was waiting for the races to start I could feel my hands shivering with cold. We were on the courts for cross country, waiting our races.
The 11 year old boys went first then we (the 10 year old boys) lined up. Mr Burt got his wooden clapper ready . “Bang!” I heard a clap and we sprinted off fast, to get ahead of the bunch. When I was running the cold air was blowing in my face.
We got to the gate and it was muddy my feet were sinking in to the mud and they were going cold like ice. Then my friend Waata caught up to me and we were talking for a while then I sprinted off again. As I was going around the corner I was slowing down because I felt tired so I started to walk started to walk.
I could see the finish so I put on a burst of speed . People were cheering as I was running through the finish line.

In the Assembly I saw the teachers dressed up as pirates. Miss Burne was dressed up as James Cook. They looked funny but I still wanted to know what the topic was . Mr Burt told us it was Mighty Mariner. I said to my self "What is mighty mariners?" . Then team 1 came up a and they showed a movie about them going on a waka but they were siting down. Their movie finished and then team 2 came up. Mrs She was dressed up as a pirate and Mrs Burne was dressed up as James Cook. First Miss Burne was talking. She said she was James Cook then Mrs She was talking. She said she was a pirate then she was saying to Caption Cook she wanted an i-phone. She finally gave Mrs Burne a hug. THE END

Standing straight like a soldier I am waiting to get bowled over by the bowling ball. "Oh no I hope I don't get smashed to the ground," I think to my self. I start to feel scared and nervous. How can I get out of here.? Suddenly I heard the bowling ball roll then it bounced to the side. I was not scared but then It bounced back and I got bowled over.

Capture the Flag

Last week on Friday Room 14 and 15 played Capture the Flag down on the bottom field. I didn't know if it was cool or not but Miss King said "Go" then I just ran. We had different roles like tagging and guarding and rescuing. We had to think when we were playing because it is a tactical game.
As I was cautiously guarding the flag people snuck through. When I ran after my opponent I was exhausted and sweaty.
