Learning About Honesty

What is Honesty? This year Pt England school is learning to be “Better Together” - “Kia pai te kotahi” . In Room 19 we have been investigating love, compassion, honesty and tolerance. Ms Tito (our teacher) gave us a task to select one of these words to write a definition and present an example of what it means to our class. The reason we are learning about these things are to help us understand ourselves and others so we can be a better person today and in the future.

My group chose the word Honesty here is our definition and example of what it looks like.

I am a good soft ball player best in my team.

I am a black ops player to good to be true.

I am a good motor bike rider especially with quads.

I am good at doing jobs especially with my uncle

I am fun when you get to know me

I am a Maori proud of my tribe

Bush fire

A bush fire starts when it is the hottest day on record in Australia. Australia is so dry it's like paper, the sun will burn trees down just like that.

It was a hot, fine day then all of a sudden you could hear fire engines down the street. They were going to the park were the park were the fire start. they were trying to put out a big bush fire that was heading for town. It was long before they new they only put out half of it the other half had already hit the city.

Next buildings were burning down, cars were one fire people were running for there lives. Now there were more than one fire engines there were four there now they were all trying to put it out before theres no more city left. Finally they put it out before it hit the city.

Not so bad after all

At first when we were waiting to run we were all nervous but when we got out there we thought it was all right. Its was muddy and wet as soon as we started there was mud dripping off my clothes. Everyone decided to sprint and get ahead of everyone but they just slowed down.

When we got to halfway there was mud everywhere there were telecom volunteers there to watch us so we could go the right way. When we got to half way we were muddy as.

When we got to the finish me and my friends were running together And we were all confident then we crossed the finish line together.

Usain Bolt inspires me

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt inspires me because he is a five time world and three time Olympic gold medalist. He is the fastest man in the world. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 m relay race and is one of only seven athletes. He became the first junior runner to complete the 200 m in less than 20s. His personal record is 9.78 in the 100m.

Did you know He has to sleep on a custom made bed because he was uncomfortable in his old bed. If he doesn't sleep in his new bed he will suffer from his back and hamstring pain.

He inspires me because I want be fast and I want train hard like him too.

Tech

A few weeks past we went to Tamaki College to go to Tech. At Tech I am doing hard materials the teachers name is Mr Grundy, we have to do a project, all of us are doing different projects. I'm doing a truck and other kids are doing planes,cars and boats.

First we had to start off with a long piece of wood and then we had to cut out a little hole and make a housing joint. Then I had to make holes for my wheels. But I am not finished yet I can’t wait till its finished.
